Oluwafunke Oladimeji (BIOGRAPHY)
ARTIST STATEMENT
My art is guided by design and philosophy, rooted in the exploration of the human experience. I see beauty in the eloquence of visual communication — in art’s ability to connect, provoke thought, and reflect life’s complexity. Through my work, I aim to engage viewers in meaningful reflection on the beauty and fragility of existence. Each piece is both an aesthetic pursuit and a philosophical inquiry, blending emotion and intellect to create art that resonates with the soul.
ARTIST BIOGRAPHY
Oladimeji Oluwafunke (b. 1988) is a Nigerian painter whose practice explores the intersections of design, philosophy, and human experience. She holds a bachelor’s degree in fine art education from Ekiti State University, affiliated with Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED), completed in 2013. Her artistic foundation was shaped during an industrial attachment and subsequent two-year internship at the Universal Studios of Art, Lagos, where she trained under master artist Abiodun Olaku.
A full-time studio artist, Oluwafunke has exhibited widely across Nigeria and internationally, including the Affordable Art Auction, Generations Series, and the Milan Art Fair (Vangogh Art Gallery, Spain, 2023). Her recent works are characterized by expressive palette knife textures and an evolving visual language that fuses technical precision with emotional depth.
